How do I get involved as a Mentor?
You can contact us to talk about becoming a mentor. The process involves submitting an application, bio, and NDA followed by a training session and shadowing sessions.
What qualifications are there?
We welcome all individuals with business experience who want to give back to the community. Contact us to see where you could fit in as a mentor.
What is the time commitment?
Mentors must have available a minimum of one 4 hour time slot per month in the afternoon to participate. You can get as involved as you want after that and we encourage you to do so.
Is there pay compensation?
No. Mentoring is volunteer based and is a great way for you to give back to the Nashville community.
Do you have to be a member of the EC to be a mentor?
Yes. Membership at the EC costs $150.
Is there training involved?
Yes. Training consists of a half day session by Michael Burcham and David Furse. Topics covered include how to effectively run meetings, how to effectively take notes, and other topics important to the life of a Mentor. After training, you typically will sit in and shadow current mentors until you feel comfortable running mentor sessions on your own.
Do I book my own appointments?
No. We book them for you based on your predetermined availability slots.
Can I actively solicit business opportunities when mentoring?
No. The member must approach you with any given business opportunity.
